Pinktail chalceus fish (Chalceus macrolepidotus) is a type of freshwater fish that lives in aquatic environments that have moderate light levels. This fish is most often seen inhabiting the surface layers of rivers that have a high oxygen content.

The pinktail chalceus is found throughout northern South America in Colombia, Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana and Peru.

This fish has a silver body color with a pink tail. In the process of breeding pinktail chalceus fish reproduce by laying eggs.

1. Water quality

The water used to raise pinktail chalceus must be of good water quality. How to determine whether or not the water used to maintain this fish can be seen from several water quality parameters, including:

b. Water hardness level
The value of the water hardness level is 12.
c. Water temperature

2. Amount of water.

Pinktail chalceus can be kept in an aquarium, water tank or fish pond. The amount of water used to raise these fish must be sufficient. The size of the aquarium that can be used is 120cm x 45cm x 45cm. The amount of water that is filled into the maintenance tank is 240 liters. The water tank used must have sufficient space for the pinktail chalceus fish to move freely.

3. Feed

Feed affects the growth rate of fish. In nature, the main food for this fish is insects and water crustaceans. Artificial feed in the form of dry food can be given to this fish, but it must have good nutritional content.
