How to keep Tiger severum fish in an aquarium

What are the considerations when we will keep ornamental fish at home? One of them is the beauty of the color of the ornamental fish itself. Tiger severum fish is a type of freshwater fish originating from the Rio Negro River in Colombia. This fish has black, red, and green colors. This fish is also known as Red Tiger Severum.

Usually when starting to keep Tiger severum fish in an aquarium, we definitely need a lot of information on how to start keeping these fish in an aquarium. In principle, there are several things that we need to pay attention to when we are going to keep Tiger severum fish, including:

1. Maintenance container.

The maintenance container that can be used to keep Tiger severum fish is an aquarium with a volume of water that can be used as much as 200 liters. The aquarium used is generally rectangular in shape. 

2. Water quality.

Water quality certainly needs to be maintained so that the Tiger severum fish can grow healthily. Some water quality parameters that need to be considered when keeping Tiger severum fish are pH, water hardness, water temperature. The pH value of water for keeping Tiger severum fish is 7.3. The water hardness value is 12 and the water temperature is 25 degrees Celsius. 

3. Feed.

To maintain the health and increase the growth of fish, fish that are kept need to be fed. The type of feed given to Tiger severum fish is in the form of artificial feed which can be obtained at ornamental fish shops near your home.  

4. Fish care.

Tiger severum fish kept in an aquarium need to be cared for. This fish care is in the form of draining the aquarium water. The quality of aquarium water decreases over time, so to keep the quality of aquarium water optimal, the water in the aquarium needs to be replaced. 

Tiger severum fish in nature reproduce by laying eggs. These fish like aquatic environments where there are aquatic plants and rocks. In aquarium maintenance, Tiger severum fish have the habit of swimming above the surface of the water, in the middle and at the bottom of the aquarium. Tiger severum fish can grow up to 20 cm in length.
