1. Veil angelfish

Veil angelfish are one of the most popular types among these fish. They have slim, narrow triangular bodies, with silvery scales and black stripes on their bodies and tails. The dorsal and ventral fins are long and sharp, giving them sail-like appearance. Veil angelfish are temperature-sensitive and aggressive toward other fish, but they can get along with other angelfish types.

2. Dusky Blushing angelfish

These angelfish are rare and difficult to breed. They have pale white color with red color on the side of their heads, giving the perpetual “blushing” appearance. The redness came from lack of pigmentation on their bodies, which accentuates the gills’ redness. These fish are more sensitive toward temperature changes than the more common angelfish.

3. Silver angelfish

Silver angelfish are another popular type of angelfish. They have silvery scales crossed by three black strips; one of them crossing their eyes. The dorsal and ventral fins are long, but not as long as the ones on veil angelfish. Unlike the previous two types, silver angelfish are resilient, and perfect for beginner aquarium owners.

4. Marble Angelfish

Marble angelfish are perfect for beginner aquarium owners who look for resilient fish, but not as "common" as silver angelfish. Marble angelfish have unique markings, usually black on top of silvery scales. Some species may have an orange or yellow dash on top of their heads. Like silver angelfish, marble angelfish are easy to care, and not too sensitive toward water temperature changes.

5. Zebra angelfish

At first glance, zebra angelfish are similar to silver angelfish. However, these fish have more dark stripes on their bodies, although the black color is not as dark as the ones on silver angelfish. Some species of zebra angelfish have red eyes, which indicate good health. Zebra angelfish are slightly smaller than other angelfish, and they swim in “darting” movements.

6. Black lace angelfish

Black lace angelfish are actually regular angelfish that have excessive pigmentation on their scales, resulting in entirely black bodies. While most people like colorful fish, the darkness of these fish will make your tank more unique. 

Aside from these types of angelfish, you can find rare ones such as altum, albino, koi, and half-black angelfish. Get ready to spend more time and money to find these rare, beautiful fish if you are interested.
